Privacy Policy

Thank you for using Reshape. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you use it inside Canva. By using Reshape, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Access

  • When you run Reshape, the app temporarily accesses the PNG export of your Canva design (the file you choose to export). This PNG is used to remove white areas, produce transparency, and — if you choose — to generate an optional vectorized SVG.
  • Reshape does not access other files from your Canva account, your personal account information, or any designs other than the exported PNG you explicitly provide.

2. How We Use Information

  • The uploaded PNG is processed to detect and remove white areas (making them transparent) and to produce a preview you can download or insert back into your Canva document.
  • If you opt into vectorization, Reshape may convert the processed PNG into an SVG. Vectorization is optional and only occurs when you explicitly request it.
  • We do not analyze or use your design content for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the explicit functionality you requested.

3. Data Storage

By default, Reshape processes the PNG locally in your browser so the image data never leaves your device. If you choose the optional server-side vectorization feature, the PNG (or the processed PNG) will be uploaded temporarily to our vectorization service solely to perform that conversion. Any files uploaded for optional server-side processing are retained only for as long as necessary to complete the conversion (typically a short, fixed period) and then permanently deleted. We do not keep copies for any other purpose.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your designs with third parties. The only case where image data may be sent outside of your browser is if you explicitly request server-side vectorization — in that case the file is transmitted to our vectorization service solely to perform the conversion and is deleted afterward. Your content remains under your control and is not used for any secondary purpose.

5. Third-Party Services

Reshape runs inside Canva and relies on Canva’s platform for exporting and inserting assets. If you choose server-side vectorization, that service is provided by our vectorization backend (we may use reputable third-party libraries or services for the conversion). Your use of Reshape is also subject to Canva’s policies.

6. Cookies & Tracking

Reshape itself does not use cookies or tracking mechanisms inside the Canva app. Canva may use cookies and tracking under their own policies. If you use an external web page we operate for optional features, that page may use minimal cookies required for functionality; you will be informed before any external page is opened.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect any files that are uploaded for optional server-side vectorization. Data transmitted to the vectorization service is encrypted in transit. Because the default processing happens locally in your browser, risks are minimized by design. We rely on Canva’s secure platform for hosting and asset insertion.

8. Children’s Privacy

Reshape is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or process personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided their information through Reshape, please contact us and we will promptly take appropriate steps.

9. User Rights

Because Reshape does not permanently store your designs by default, there is generally no personal data retained that would require deletion. If you have used the optional server-side vectorization feature and wish to request deletion of any files retained by that service, contact us and we will remove them as quickly as possible. For any questions about how your images are processed or to request removal of retained files, you may contact us at any time.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
